Digital Performance Equipment Loan Facilities

Availability of the equipment can not be guaranteed, and is not normally
suitable for use in a public production. For details about appropriate
use please see the Equipment Loan Guidelines.

All equipment must be picked up and returned to the DPI offices.

Artists are responsible for transport and care of the equipment
for the loan period.

Artist must show a reasonable level of knowledge of the use and care of
equipment to be approved for the loan program. A simple interview with
a GSRT technician
is generally sufficient to establish your qualifications, but a Basic
training on digital tools & projection
equipment class is offered three times a year which can provide this
knowledge to new users who need training.

Sound system with a 14 input
Mackie mixer, tape deck, and CD player, and a few microphones, amp and
speakers.

(2) flat black velour drapes 30 foot x12 foot are available for the
space.

(1) 9x12 dual view fast-fold
projection screen,
(3) 7x7.5 dual view fast-fold
screens, and one 6x9 gray RP fast-fold screens are available.
(fast-fold screens are a lightweight box aluminum frame onto which a
projection screen snaps, they have legs and can be easily hung as they
are very light, "dual
view" is a white screen material which works as a rear and front projection
surface.)
There are (5) other small rolling screens of unusual dimensions in the
space.

(2) 2000 lumen XGA projectors, this includes 2 projectors fitted with
a DMX moving head mirror allowing
them to be use with the MediaBeam. (4 Other projectors can be made
available by special
advanced request)

(2) Media PC's are available in the space with osprey100
video capture cards. (for use with MediaBeam System)

Also available is a video editing station with DV deck HDV camera and NTSC
monitor in the 4th floor studios. Final Cut, After Effects and Pro tools
are available. You should provide your own hard drive to use the video editing
station for significant volumes of video. Supported artists are able to schedule
time to use this station primarily outside office hours.

Technical advice and training on
is available from the professional designers, filmmakers, and programmers
working for Learning Worlds. Learning
Worlds
, Gertrude Stein and DPI are
set up in an open studio environment where employees are encouraged to participate
in various artistic projects.
